Overview

Barcelona is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Spain, but places like Gracia still exist. This neighborhood, just a stone's throw from the bustling center, feels a world away. That's because it used to be its own village and has held onto those roots even more than a century after being swallowed up by Barcelona’s urban sprawl. Experience hole-in-the-wall gems serving up home-cooked classics, regulars-only bodegas, bustling markets, and see some of Gaudí's masterpieces along the way. You can't do any better than Gracia—and on this food and history tour, we’ll show you where to find the best of the best.

What's Included

  • Enjoy 12+ Catalan foods and 3 drinks at 6 small businesses in Barcelona’s Gracia neighborhood. Enough food for breakfast and lunch.
  • Visit family-run businesses that have been part of Gracia for generations and meet the characters behind the counter.
  • Wander through a vibrant local market and enjoy cava with a typical tapa.
  • Get away from the crowds and step into everyday life in a historic Barcelona neighborhood with the charm of a small town.
  • See Gaudí’s colorful Casa Vicens, admire the exterior of Casa Milà, and other Modernist marvels.

Gracia Neighborhood Food Tour Itinerary

Just north of Eixample, a charming Catalan neighborhood is hiding in plain sight. A straight shot on the metro will get you there from central Barcelona before you know it, but you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. After meeting your guide and small group right in front of a true local icon—Gaudi’s Casa Vicens—you'll embark on a morning of discovering true Catalan culture in the best possible way: through its food and art!

Our first stop is a traditional pastisseria ...

Our Pledge to Sustainable Tourism in Barcelona

We believe that the best food in Barcelona comes from a connection between the land (or sea!), the people, and the plate. That means a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the stories behind them, and the culture and community tying it all together. As the Catalan capital changes more with each passing year, we’re committed to honoring the city’s roots by supporting small, family-run businesses through responsible food tourism. Join us to experience Barcelona’s authentic flavors and the people who make them special!

This tour with Alex was absolutely fantastic! He personalised the tour to what I was interested in. His knowledge of the food, wine, the region and history made for a really fascinating experience. And all the food and wine spots were truly delicious. I would highly recommend this tour whether you’re a first time visitor to Barcelona or have visited before.

Not to be missed. What a lovely tour that included unique food and parts of the city. I have visited many times, and this is my favorite neighborhood. It’s sad that so few people visit here. Well worth your time. My guide was knowledgeable about the architecture, the history of the neighborhood, and the food we ate. Would not only recommend, would say it is a must when visiting the city.

Excellent Walks & Devour Food Tour of Garca, Barcelona. Feliciano is an excellent guide who conducted a relaxed pace tour that included much explanation of Spanish history and evolution of the architecture of Garcia and the influence of Modernism on the homes of the wealthy textile business owners. Oh yes, this was a food tour! We went to a wonderful collection small family proprietorship serving sweet to full tapas and the neighborhood market as well. Don't miss this one if you want to see a part of Barcelona with few other tourists!
